For an immersive exhibition about Cleopatra, we produced and installed a series of large decorative figures for a hologram room in Madrid, London, and Hamburg.
The figures were designed as reliefs inspired by ancient Egyptian art. We wanted to find a production method that would match the visual language of the exhibition while also achieving a high level of quality and a striking appearance. For this reason, we chose large-scale 3D printing in separate blocks. The figures were intentionally divided into fragments so that the visible seams between the blocks would imitate stone masonry. After printing, the blocks were painted matte black and then hand-finished with gold paint.
This was a full-cycle project: we developed the entire production, transportation, and installation system, produced all components in our studio in Berlin, and then delivered and installed the sculptures across multiple locations.
